O mangá foi originalmente serializado na revista Super Jump da Shueisha, em 1992. Recebeu adaptação para anime, no formato OVA com 6 episódios, produzidos pela Shueisha em conjunto com a KSS em 1995. Apesar das cenas de nudez, orgasmo, e masturbação feminina, a série de anime não é estritamente do gênero hentai, ao contrário do mangá, que se torna pornográfico a partir do segundo volume.

Whenever I hear people talk about this OVA/movie, I always here about how I just don't understand it and that the main character, Kintaro Oe, is an inspirational character and see themselves in him.

So what these people are saying is that they look up to a pervert who nearly destroys a companies files just to prove himself to be better than the women he works with, takes advantadge of a girl who has been abused by her boyfriend just so he can get in her pants, stalks a swim teacher to the point she has to file restraining orders against him, forces a biker to fall in love with him and makes fun of her motorcycle kink, and sees women as a pair of tits and a pussy to fuck.

Yeah no thanks, I rather not look up to the anime equivalent of of Harvey Wienstein.

Honestly in hindsight, Golden boy is even worse than I remember and is tied with Gorno as the worst movie I have seen.

I remember watching Episode 6 at Anime Expo with a bunch of fans and laughing it out at the top of our lungs.

This anime is a representation of what anime has evolved to today into series like Love Flops (Renai Flops) or Tsundere series like Love Hina.

Great in so many ways, perversion comedy, a series not to be taken for its literal meaning just how desperate some otaku boys can be to get near a girl lol. 10/10
